My Story: How These Systems Came To Be
"Kyle, this isn't working."
I felt my stomach sink.
Three months earlier, I was excited to use my skills to "make the cash register ring" for Little Jumbo. My then partner Mack and I agreed to provide ongoing photography and social media management—$2,700 per month.
I was still bartending and managing the bar at the time, keeping an eye on the cashouts—looking for signals that our efforts were working. Aside from likes, follows, and comments—there were none I could see.
It was in that moment I decided I would go to great lengths to crack the code on this restaurant marketing thing. I got curious about how to create systems that actually drive growth.
In one fell swoop, I learned two painful lessons:
- There is no silver bullet—just a combination of small but powerful efforts that stack and compound over time.
- An activity alone is not enough. We must orchestrate activities into a system that produces outcomes.
That's why I created the Restaurant Growth OS: to help restaurant owners build systems that actually move the needle.
